US Consumer Confidence Drops

BREAKING- The US consumer confidence index fell to a bleak 58.6, dropping from a 66.7 December estimate.

The conference board’s index points to recent changes in payroll taxes and the outlook on employment are the main sources behind this decline. Consumer confidence in the US has reached a low not seen since November 2011.

The outlook for 2013 seems uncertain.
