Now entering the third week of classes, it seems like every start-of-the-year tradition has come and gone. Frosh is over, there’s no sign of OAP on lower field, and the phrase “Do you know where the Leacock Building is?” has become drastically less common.
Prepare yourself, McGill: Tomorrow the add/drop period ends, and pretty soon you’ll start hearing that it’s the “middle” of the semester. Assignments and midterms will begin piling up, and the mood of the campus will drop proportionally to the drop in the temperature. Luckily, student publications like The Bull & Bear are here to help you laugh, learn, and procrastinate.
This blog is a new project by The Bull & Bear to forge closer ties with our readers. We wanted to create a platform for us to communicate with the student body in a more flexible and meta way than an article usually allows. The blog will include announcements about The Bull & Bear, job openings, calls for submissions, and bite-sized thoughts about McGill.
Most importantly, the blog will introduce our readers to the students behind the publication: the editors, executives, and staff who work hard to keep The Bull & Bear running. The blog has no dedicated writers or editors – it’s a collective effort from all of us to give you a closer look at who we are and what we do.
Without further ado, the reason for this post: The Bull & Bear is hiring! Many of you came to our tables last week and told us about your interests in writing, photography, operations, and so on. We hope to hear from you soon! Drop us an email at [email protected] if you have any questions.
